Six things we hold to, across every jar, tin and bag we make. If a product cannot meet them, we do not make it.
Food should look like food
Open a jar of our fresh dog food and you can see the meat, the vegetables and the fruit. The meat is only lightly minced so it keeps the structure of the cut, and the vegetables are diced, not pureed. We do not extrude, we do not cook at the high temperatures that turn a can of meat into paste, and we do not add anything to make food look or smell like something it is not.
Short ingredient lists
Every ingredient has a job. Meat for protein, vegetables and fruit for vitamins and fibre, seeds and oils for skin and coat, a touch of herbs or seaweed to finish. No fillers, no flavour enhancers, no preservatives, no artificial colours, no binding agents. Our natural treats have one ingredient, and it is in the name.
Named meat, every time
We say beef, duck, turkey, lamb, salmon, rabbit or chicken. We never say meat meal or animal derivatives. You should always know which animal your pet is eating, and our fresh menus use one named protein each so you can.
Sourced within Europe
The ingredients in our fresh menus are sourced within Europe. Our natural treats, training bones and dental chews are made from meat sourced within the EU and fully traceable. We would rather pay more for ingredients we can stand over.
Gentle cooking, honest packaging
Our fresh menus are steam-cooked gently at low temperature inside the jar, then sealed and sterilised the way a jar of pasta sauce is. That is what lets a jar keep in the cupboard for up to 12 months with nothing added. Our treats are slowly air-dried. Both take longer than high-heat processing, and both keep more of the flavour and nutrients. We use glass because it is resealable, taste-neutral, recyclable and does not need a freezer.
Honest with you
We would rather tell you a treat varies in size than pretend every piece is identical. We would rather tell you what a recipe does not contain than make a claim we cannot back up. If we get something wrong, email query@naturallywild.ie and we will put it right.
