About this recipe
A treat with an ingredient list you can say in one breath. Beef gullet. That is it. No binder, no coating, no "meat derivatives". It is air-dried, which takes longer than baking but means nothing has to be added to hold the shape.
Why beef gullet. The gullet is the oesophagus, a tube of muscle and cartilage. Dried, it is a springy chew that carries a lot of glucosamine, which is why it suits active dogs and older dogs whose joints need looking after.
Who it suits. Medium and large dogs, and any dog that gets through a rawhide too fast. If your dog gulps rather than chews, start with a training bone.
Natural means it varies. A 100g pack is roughly 5 to 8 pieces of about 14cm. Size and colour vary because they are whole parts, not moulded ones.

Questions you might have
Can my dog have beef gullet every day?
As an occasional chew, yes. A good rule of thumb is to keep treats under about a tenth of your dog's daily food. Stay nearby while they chew, pick a size they cannot swallow whole, and take away the last little piece. If your dog is under 10kg or tends to gulp rather than chew, a training bone is a better place to start.
What are the benefits of beef gullet for dogs?
Gullet, or oesophagus, is a chewy strip of muscle and connective tissue. It is high in protein and collagen, low in fat, and takes a while to get through, so it works as a longer chew for a medium dog without the bone content of a neck.
Why does my pack look a bit different from last time?
Because these are real, whole pieces that have been air-dried, not shapes pressed out of a mould. Every animal is a little different, so the size and colour of each piece will vary from pack to pack. What stays the same is the weight on the front, so your dog always gets the full amount.
Is it really just one ingredient?
It really is. Beef gullet, air-dried, and sourced within the EU. Nothing added to bind it, coat it, preserve it or flavour it. That is why the label on the pack is so short: there is nothing else to list.
How do I keep it fresh?
Somewhere cool and dry, with the pack sealed up between chews, and use it by the best-before date. If your dog only gets one now and again, just reseal the pack after each one and it will stay at its best.
