About this recipe

A treat with an ingredient list you can say in one breath. Beef intestine. That is it. No binder, no coating, no "meat derivatives". It is air-dried, which takes longer than baking but means nothing has to be added to hold the shape.

Why beef intestine. Intestine dries into a light, crunchy chew with a strong smell dogs love and a very high protein content. It is one of the simplest treats we make and one of the most popular with fussy dogs.

Who it suits. Most dogs over 10kg, and light chewers who find a trachea too much. If your dog gulps rather than chews, start with a training bone.

Natural means it varies. A 100g pack contains pieces of roughly 7 to 16cm. Size and colour vary because they are whole parts, not moulded ones.

Questions you might have

Can my dog have beef intestine every day?

As an occasional chew, yes. A good rule of thumb is to keep treats under about a tenth of your dog's daily food. Stay nearby while they chew, pick a size they cannot swallow whole, and take away the last little piece. Small dogs and puppies can enjoy it too, in a size they can manage.

What are the benefits of beef intestine for dogs?

Intestine is a soft, chewy strip that is naturally rich in protein and collagen and easy on the teeth. It suits older dogs and dogs that cannot manage a hard chew, and the taste is strong enough to hold a dog's attention during training.

Why does my pack look a bit different from last time?

Because these are real, whole pieces that have been air-dried, not shapes pressed out of a mould. Every animal is a little different, so the size and colour of each piece will vary from pack to pack. What stays the same is the weight on the front, so your dog always gets the full amount.

Is it really just one ingredient?

It really is. Beef intestine, air-dried, and sourced within the EU. Nothing added to bind it, coat it, preserve it or flavour it. That is why the label on the pack is so short: there is nothing else to list.

How do I keep it fresh?

Somewhere cool and dry, with the pack sealed up between chews, and use it by the best-before date. If your dog only gets one now and again, just reseal the pack after each one and it will stay at its best.
