About this recipe
A treat with an ingredient list you can say in one breath. Chicken hearts. That is it. No binder, no coating, no "meat derivatives". It is air-dried, which takes longer than baking but means nothing has to be added to hold the shape.
Why chicken hearts. Heart is a muscle, and it is one of the richest natural sources of taurine, the amino acid that helps support a dog's own heart and eyes. Dried whole, they are bite-sized and light, so a handful in a pocket does a training session.
Who it suits. Every size of dog, puppies included. They are quick rather than a long chew, so they are the treat for training and rewarding rather than for keeping a dog busy.
Natural means it varies. Hearts vary a little in size. Colour varies with drying. A 100g pack is what you are buying.

Can my dog have these every day?
Yes, as a daily training treat, as long as treats stay under about a tenth of your dog's daily food. Got a tiny dog? Just break them in half. Small dogs and puppies can enjoy them too.
What are the benefits of chicken hearts for dogs?
Heart is lean muscle meat, naturally high in protein, taurine and iron. Air-dried whole, it is a small, soft treat that most dogs will work for, which makes it a good training reward. It also suits dogs that need a low-fat option.
Why does my pack look a bit different from last time?
Because these are real, whole pieces that have been air-dried, not shapes pressed out of a mould. Every animal is a little different, so the size and colour of each piece will vary from pack to pack. What stays the same is the weight on the front, so your dog always gets the full amount.
Is it really just one ingredient?
It really is. Chicken hearts, air-dried, and sourced within the EU. Nothing added to bind it, coat it, preserve it or flavour it. That is why the label on the pack is so short: there is nothing else to list.
How do I keep it fresh?
Somewhere cool and dry, with the pack sealed up between chews, and use it by the best-before date. If your dog only gets one now and again, just reseal the pack after each one and it will stay at its best.
