About this recipe

Training treats add up fast. A session can mean thirty rewards, so what is in them matters. These are 95% turkey and 5% vegetable glycerine, which is what keeps them soft. Nothing else.

Built for a pocket. They do not crumble, do not go greasy and do not need to be broken with two hands. Which means you actually use them, indoors or on a walk.

One meat, fully traceable. The turkey is single source and carefully selected, and the bones are slowly air-dried to keep flavour and nutrients. Free from corn, wheat, soy, artificial colours, preservatives, meat meals and fillers.

Who it suits. Every size and age. Break them smaller for a small dog or a puppy; a reward only needs to be a taste.

Questions you might have

Are they soft enough for a puppy?

They are. Training bones are soft, snap easily and are small enough to be a quick reward rather than a meal. For a puppy or a very small dog, just break each one into halves or quarters.

Why is there vegetable glycerine in them?

It holds in moisture, which is what keeps the bones soft and stops them crumbling to bits in your pocket. It is just 5% of the recipe, and it is the only thing in there apart from the meat.

How many can I give in a day?

Keep treats under about a tenth of your dog's daily food and you are grand. On a big training day, just take a little off the evening meal rather than cutting the training short.

How do I keep them fresh?

Somewhere cool and dry, with the pack sealed, and use them by the best-before date. If you have gone for the 1kg pack, a handy tip is to decant a week's worth into a small tub and keep the rest sealed up.
